So the Weather Channel tonight announced they are going to start naming winter storms. This is the list of names for this year. Personally I can not wait for the forecasters to The Wrath of Khan. Add Comment Twilight Comics recently asked me to create a new forest elemental image for their generic in-store game tokens. Lucky for me I just downloaded some new photoshop brushes that I have been dying to break in. This is the un-cropped image that will be available as prints at this years Strange Folk Festival, followed shortly by Twilight Comics, and then Mindworks Gallery. The Strange Folk Festival in O'fallon, IL is a huge event that I am very proud to be a part of! It is also in 2 weeks and I am suddenly very aware of the time. Yikes, every year the last month before the show sneaks up on me, but this year I am prepared. Lots of new work will be at the show and shortly I will have restocked all prints at Mindworks Gallery, and Twilight Comics. So be on the lookout as things get much crazier in the next 12 days or so! I apologize for being somewhat AWOL from the online world for a month or so. I spent the first part of August busily preparing for the birth of my daughter in October, and unfortunately dealing with the fallout from losing our dog Sara to sudden onset Leukemia. Sara was more to me than just a dog, to me she was people. And will be dearly missed. I clearly seem to be on Comic book overload this week. This was just messing around with some new PD brushes and well...again about 20 minutes later I had this. I am not sure where some of this stuff comes from, but I won't complain. This was supposed to be a warm up sketch. 30 Minutes later is had gone a bit farther than I intended. Not that that's a bad thing mind you. : ) The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell is asking for button design ideas. Who am I to pass off an opportunity to have some fun? Is this a sound policy? Hell who knows at this point. All I know is everything we have been doing for the last 25 years or so is insane, so lets try something different. I'm sorry I just could not resist. This was all I could think of watching Ann Romney on the news tonight. From the Twilight Comics facebook page: "New tokens are here! One of the beloved "generic" type so you can soldier-up and 4 of our new Artist Series. Soldier, Beast, & Wurm by David Carr and a pinkish, fluffy Drake by Brian. Everybody who plays in our M13 Launch FNM event will get a set of the Artist Series FREE!" This is hopefully the first of a few cards and other gaming related products I will be providing art for in the upcoming months. The orginal paintings these are based on are also available in the store. |
