Pure Joy 02/21/2012
Not art related in the least, but I cant resist sharing this with you. This is my parents dachshund Marley. She is watching television and being tickled by my wife. Its moments like this that keep me inspired as an artist. Add Comment So I recently have been drowning in work. Good for Business, bad for blogging. However, I finally have enough of a cushion to get some new work posted and that's what I am now really taking the time to do. First up is a company in Canada called "A Way With It Removal Services" It is a junk removal business to help remove unwanted items from the homes of the areas aging population. They asked for a friendly throwback to the era of cartoon pitchmen and smiling icons. The President of the company Bryan Reber is a great guy and now has a logo to match his personality. If you are in the Quebec area and need some stuff removed, look them up! Um...where the hell is Winter? 02/03/2012
Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying this weather more than you can imagine, but I had a few snow paintings planned that I have put off now as its just impossible to paint snow when its a gorgeous 70 degrees outside. In the meantime, I have been quietly making updates to the site that have yet to be published. Look for those to start rolling out over the next few days.I have some new work that I will be posting this weekend, and I have been doing some contract work for a local web design and ad firm that I will post links to as soon as it goes live. Not to mention my private commissions and design work. In short, I am EXHAUSTED. Very excited, but totally exhausted. If January was my month to recuperate from 2011, then February will be the month that I kick it off with a bang. Come back tomorow for more! Have a great night! ~ArtMonkeyWorld Dave Site Clean up 01/11/2012
Its that time of year, where I go through and start removing older work and replacing it with new. Plus I have a few site graphics I need to get replaced. Frankly I need more hours in the day. Anyone care to figure out how to put 36 hours into every day for me, and then give me a week of solid quiet to use them? Anyone? Fine. I'll just add that to the list of things I have to do. I swear.... I intend to get this moving in earnest over the next few days, so if things get a bit buggy, pardon the dust. Its so hard to clean when you have a Monkey and a Dog shedding all over the place. Now you will excuse me the sun is about to come up, and I must get to sleep before I turn to dust myself. ~ArtMonkeyDave CNN After Dark Logo 01/04/2012
I couldn't help myself. Moments after I finished this, CNN actually debuted a logo for this ludicrous joke. This started as a joke somone made on Twitter, and now it may be a real show thanks to Roland Martin and Anderson Cooper. But seriously this needs to be a show. I would watch this. If you have no idea what this is about you clearly were not watching CNN at 3 am on January 4th. Edit* Oh God and now there is a Twitter for CNNAfterDark. Follow them. This is epic. lol If anything they are picking up. So if there is a piece of work that you have been eying whether on the site here, or at Twilight Comics or MindWorks Gallery now is the time to snag it because I really don't know what will be left after the holidays. Check out the Original Paintings section of the store to see whats available and where as of this moment, and you may want to call ahead before you make a trip. The only thing I can say for sure is that I am very grateful for all of you, and that I will spend this holiday in a small coma preparing to get painting replacements next week! Have a great morning everyone! ArtMonkeyWorld Dave An F'd Up Christmas Carol Poster 12/21/2011
_ I know I have been quite on here for about a month, but that's just because I have been BURIED under work. Now with a Few Days left before Christmas I have a moment to breath and update the site. First up: This is a poster I put together for a Sketch Comedy Podcast I do artwork for called F'd Up In Middle America. (Link is safe for work, podcast is not) I didnt have a lot of time for this one as it kinda fell on me along with a million other things this month, but I just love the opportunity to play with traditions and put them on their ear. Check out the show, its a version of this story that you have NOT heard before, and a lot of fun to listen to as you wrap your gifts this year. More stuff coming later today. ~ArtMonkeyWorld Dave I am EXHAUSTED. Thankful. But exhausted. 12/01/2011
First of all I want to thank everyone who made it out for the Art and Craft show this weekend. It was an amazing time and great to see so many of you. But a 3 day show is nothing if not an endurance trial, and I have been playing catch up and slipping in and out of a coma all week. That aside, look for a major update to the site in the next few days, as well as a ton of new work for the holidays! Until then have a great morning!
